For thy name's sake, O Jehovah,\par\tab Pardon mine iniquity, for it is great.


Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance:\par\tab Be their shepherd also, and bear them up for ever.\par


Blessed is the nation whose God is Jehovah,\par\tab The people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.


He gave his people over also unto the sword,\par\tab And was wroth with his inheritance.


For Jehovah will not cast off his people,\par\tab Neither will he forsake his inheritance.


Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be mine own possession from among all peoples: for all the earth is mine:


And Jehovah said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people:


And Moses said unto Jehovah, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found favor in my sight.

The portion of Jacob is not like these; for he is the former of all things; and Israel is the tribe of his inheritance: Jehovah of hosts is his name.\par


Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth over the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in lovingkindness.


And Jehovah shall inherit Judah as his portion in the holy land, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.


Pardon, I pray thee, the iniquity of this people according unto the greatness of thy lovingkindness, and according as thou hast forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.

For Jehovah's portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.


But Jehovah hath taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, out of Egypt, to be unto him a people of inheritance, as at this day.


And I fell down before Jehovah, as at the first, forty days and forty nights; I did neither eat bread nor drink water; because of all your sin which ye sinned, in doing that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, to provoke him to anger.


And I prayed unto Jehovah, and said, O Lord Jehovah, destroy not thy people and thine inheritance, that thou hast redeemed through thy greatness, that thou hast brought forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand.


Yet they are thy people and thine inheritance, which thou broughtest out by thy great power and by thine outstretched arm.
