It may be that Jehovah will look on the wrong done unto me, and that Jehovah will requite me good for his cursing of me this day.


He singeth before men, and saith,\par\tab I have sinned, and perverted that which was right,\par\tab And it profited me not:


For Jehovah knoweth the way of the righteous;\par\tab But the way of the wicked shall perish.\par


Thou hast seen {\i it}; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand:\par\tab The helpless committeth {\i himself} unto thee;\par\tab Thou hast been the helper of the fatherless.


And thou hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy;\par\tab Thou hast set my feet in a large place.


Cast thy burden upon Jehovah, and he will sustain thee:\par\tab He will never suffer the righteous to be moved.


Now there arose a new king over Egypt, who knew not Joseph.


And Moses told his father-in-law all that Jehovah had done unto Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel's sake, all the travail that had come upon them by the way, and how Jehovah delivered them.


And now, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: moreover I have seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them.


And the people believed: and when they heard that Jehovah had visited the children of Israel, and that he had seen their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshipped.


And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: {\b depart from me, ye that work iniquity.}\par


Thus hath the Lord done unto me in the days wherein he looked upon {\i me}, to take away my reproach among men.\par


{\b I have surely seen the affliction of my people that is in Egypt, and have heard their groaning, and I am come down to deliver them: and now come, I will send thee into Egypt.}


and we cried unto Jehovah, the God of our fathers, and Jehovah heard our voice, and saw our affliction, and our toil, and our oppression;


And she vowed a vow, and said, O Jehovah of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thy handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thy handmaid, but wilt give unto thy handmaid a man-child, then I will give him unto Jehovah all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.
