Come, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.


He appointed it in Joseph for a testimony,\par\tab When he went out over the land of Egypt,\par\tab {\i Where} I heard a language that I knew not.


The way of an eagle in the air;\par\tab The way of a serpent upon a rock;\par\tab The way of a ship in the midst of the sea;\par\tab And the way of a man with a maiden.


Thou shalt not see the fierce people, a people of a deep speech that thou canst not comprehend, of a strange tongue that thou canst not understand.


Then came Isaiah the prophet unto king Hezekiah, and said unto him, What said these men? and from whence came they unto thee? And Hezekiah said, They are come from a far country unto me, even from Babylon.


And it shall come to pass in that day, that Jehovah will hiss for the fly that is in the uttermost part of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria.


Behold, he shall come up as clouds, and his chariots {\i shall be} as the whirlwind: his horses are swifter than eagles. Woe unto us! for we are ruined.


For thus saith Jehovah: Behold, he shall fly as an eagle, and shall spread out his wings against Moab.


Behold, he shall come up and fly as the eagle, and spread out his wings against Bozrah: and the heart of the mighty men of Edom at that day shall be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.\par


Our pursuers were swifter than the eagles of the heavens:\par\tab They chased us upon the mountains, they laid wait for us in the wilderness.


And I will bring you forth out of the midst thereof, and deliver you into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you.

The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made to stand upon two feet as a man; and a man's heart was given to it.


And after the threescore and two weeks shall the anointed one be cut off, and shall have nothing: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and even unto the end shall be war; desolations are determined.


{\i Set} the trumpet to thy mouth. As an eagle {\i he cometh} against the house of Jehovah, because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law.


But ships shall come from the coast of Kittim, And they shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict Eber; And he also shall come to destruction.


Wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.\par


In the law it is written, {\cf6 By men of strange tongues and by the lips of strangers will I speak unto this people; and not even thus will they hear me,} saith the Lord.
