And hearken thou to the supplications of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: yea, hear thou from thy dwelling-place, even from heaven; and when thou hearest forgive.\par


then hear thou from heaven, even from thy dwelling-place, their prayer and their supplications, and maintain their cause, and forgive thy people who have sinned against thee.\par


every one that is called by my name, and whom I have created for my glory, whom I have formed, yea, whom I have made.\par


Though our iniquities testify against us, work thou for thy name's sake, O Jehovah; for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against thee.


Why shouldest thou be as a man affrighted, as a mighty man that cannot save? Yet thou, O Jehovah, art in the midst of us, and we are called by thy name; leave us not.\par


For, lo, I begin to work evil at the city which is called by my name; and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished; for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith Jehovah of hosts.\par


But I wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I brought them out.


Nevertheless I withdrew my hand, and wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I brought them forth.


But I wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, among which they were, in whose sight I made myself known unto them, in bringing them forth out of the land of Egypt.\par


Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I do not {\i this} for your sake, O house of Israel, but for my holy name, which ye have profaned among the nations, whither ye went.


Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Now will I bring back the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel; and I will be jealous for my holy name.


O my God, incline thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by thy name: for we do not present our supplications before thee for our righteousnesses, but for thy great mercies' sake.


And it came to pass that, when they made an end of eating the grass of the land, then I said, O Lord Jehovah, forgive, I beseech thee: how shall Jacob stand? for he is small.


Pardon, I pray thee, the iniquity of this people according unto the greatness of thy lovingkindness, and according as thou hast forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.


So shall they put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them.


I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will arise and give him as many as he needeth.


{\b That the residue of men may seek after the Lord,\par\tab And all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, Saith the Lord, who maketh these things}


to the end that we should be unto the praise of his glory, we who had before hoped in Christ:


to the praise of the glory of his grace, which he freely bestowed on us in the Beloved:


to the intent that now unto the principalities and the powers in the heavenly {\i places} might be made known through the church the manifold wisdom of God,
