Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath Jehovah, the God of heaven, given me; and he hath charged me to build him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Whosoever there is among you of all his people, Jehovah his God be with him, and let him go up.\par


Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, who shall not regard silver, and as for gold, they shall not delight in it.


A grievous vision is declared unto me; the treacherous man dealeth treacherously, and the destroyer destroyeth. Go up, O Elam; besiege, O Media; all the sighing thereof have I made to cease.


Therefore shall evil come upon thee; thou shalt not know the dawning thereof: and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put it away: and desolation shall come upon thee suddenly, which thou knowest not.\par


And I will bring upon that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah hath prophesied against all the nations.


Prepare against her the nations, the kings of the Medes, the governors thereof, and all the deputies thereof, and all the land of their dominion.


As for this image, its head was of fine gold, its breast and its arms of silver, its belly and its thighs of brass,


And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee; and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.


And Darius the Mede received the kingdom, being about threescore and two years old.\par


So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.\par


Now, O king, establish the interdict, and sign the writing, that it be not changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.


The ram which thou sawest, that had the two horns, they are the kings of Media and Persia.


In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the seed of the Medes, who was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans,


Parthians and Medes and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, in Jud\'e6a and Cappadocia, in Pontus and Asia,
