And this thing became a sin; for the people went to worship before the one, even unto Dan.


So he went back with him, and did eat bread in his house, and drank water.


And he will give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, which he hath sinned, and wherewith he hath made Israel to sin.


And the men of his city, even the elders and the nobles who dwelt in his city, did as Jezebel had sent unto them, according as it was written in the letters which she had sent unto them.


And Micaiah said, As Jehovah liveth, what Jehovah saith unto me, that will I speak.


And king Ahaz commanded Urijah the priest, saying, Upon the great altar burn the morning burnt-offering, and the evening meal-offering, and the king's burnt-offering, and his meal-offering, with the burnt-offering of all the people of the land, and their meal-offering, and their drink-offerings; and sprinkle upon it all the blood of the burnt-offering, and all the blood of the sacrifice: but the brazen altar shall be for me to inquire by.


Thus did Urijah the priest, according to all that king Ahaz commanded.

But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men-children alive.

And he sent Peter and John, saying, {\cf6 Go and make ready for us the passover, that we may eat.}


Judge not according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment.}\par


Now when they beheld the boldness of Peter and John, and had perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.


saying, We strictly charged you not to teach in this name: and behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.


But Peter and the apostles answered and said, We must obey God rather than men.


I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.


but we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by the manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.


Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.


This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;


By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months by his parents, because they saw he was a goodly child; and they were not afraid of the king's commandment.


do ye not then make distinctions among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts?
