In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.


And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth:


And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lifted up my hand unto Jehovah, God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth,


But will God in very deed dwell on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded!


And Hezekiah prayed before Jehovah, and said, O Jehovah, the God of Israel, that sittest above the cherubim, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; thou hast made heaven and earth.


But who is able to build him a house, seeing heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain him? who am I then, that I should build him a house, save only to burn incense before him?


But will God in very deed dwell with men on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have builded!


The heavens are the heavens of Jehovah;\par\tab But the earth hath he given to the children of men.


Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help,\par\tab Whose hope is in Jehovah his God:


Let them praise the name of Jehovah;\par\tab For his name alone is exalted;\par\tab His glory is above the earth and the heavens.


{\b A Psalm of David.}\par\par\tab The earth is Jehovah's, and the fulness thereof;\par\tab The world, and they that dwell therein.


Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?


Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard? The everlasting God, Jehovah, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary; there is no searching of his understanding.


Thus saith God Jehovah, he that created the heavens, and stretched them forth; he that spread abroad the earth and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:


For thus saith Jehovah that created the heavens, the God that formed the earth and made it, that established it and created it not a waste, that formed it to be inhabited: I am Jehovah; and there is none else.


Thus saith Jehovah, Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: what manner of house will ye build unto me? and what place shall be my rest?


Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, these shall perish from the earth, and from under the heavens.\par


Can any hide himself in secret places so that I shall not see him? saith Jehovah. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith Jehovah.


Ah Lord Jehovah! behold, thou hast made the heavens and the earth by thy great power and by thine outstretched arm; there is nothing too hard for thee,


and all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing; and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth; and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?


The burden of the word of Jehovah concerning Israel. {\i Thus} saith Jehovah, who stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him:


Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, profaning the covenant of our fathers?


At that season Jesus answered and said, {\cf6 I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou didst hide these things from the wise and understanding, and didst reveal them unto babes:


but I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by the heaven, for it is the throne of God;


In that same hour he rejoiced in the Holy Spirit, and said, {\cf6 I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou didst hide these things from the wise and understanding, and didst reveal them unto babes: yea, Father; for so it was well-pleasing in thy sight.


In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.


and saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and bring you good tidings, that ye should turn from these vain things unto a living God, {\b who made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all that in them is}:


And they, when they heard it, lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, O Lord, thou that {\b didst make the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all that in them is}:


Howbeit the Most High dwelleth not in {\i houses} made with hands; as saith the prophet,


because that which is known of God is manifest in them; for God manifested it unto them.


Behold, unto Jehovah thy God belongeth heaven and the heaven of heavens, the earth, with all that is therein.


hath at the end of these days spoken unto us in {\i his} Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds;


For every house is builded by some one; but he that built all things is God.


And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat upon it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
