The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge;\par\tab And the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge.


{\i As} an ear-ring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold,\par\tab {\i So is} a wise reprover upon an obedient ear.


Whosoever therefore will humble himself as this little child, the same is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.


But many shall be last {\i that are} first; and first {\i that are} last.}\par


Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall in no wise enter therein.}


Send therefore to Joppa, and call unto thee Simon, who is surnamed Peter; he lodgeth in the house of Simon a tanner, by the sea side.


And Peter opened his mouth and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:


Be it known therefore unto you, that this salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles: they will also hear.\par


Let no man deceive himself. If any man thinketh that he is wise among you in this world, let him become a fool, that he may become wise.


and that which was a temptation to you in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but ye received me as an angel of God, {\i even} as Christ Jesus.


Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, and make us to hear it, that we may do it?


And for this cause we also thank God without ceasing, that, when ye received from us the word of the message, {\i even the word} of God, ye accepted {\i it} not {\i as} the word of men, but, as it is in truth, the word of God, which also worketh in you that believe.


Ye know {\i this}, my beloved brethren. But let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:


Wherefore putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness, receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
