He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart;\par\tab Who hath not lifted up his soul unto falsehood,\par\tab And hath not sworn deceitfully.


{\b A Psalm of Asaph.}\par\par\tab Surely God is good to Israel,\par\tab {\i Even} to such as are pure in heart.


Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.


I have said beforehand, and I do say beforehand, as when I was present the second time, so now, being absent, to them that have sinned heretofore, and to all the rest, that, if I come again, I will not spare;


Lay hands hastily on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins: keep thyself pure.


For which cause I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee through the laying on of my hands.


But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak:


Seeing ye have purified your souls in your obedience to the truth unto unfeigned love of the brethren, love one another from a pure heart fervently:


Beloved, I beseech you as sojourners and pilgrims, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;


Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for these things, give diligence that ye may be found in peace, without spot and blameless in his sight.


Ye therefore, beloved, knowing {\i these things} beforehand, beware lest, being carried away with the error of the wicked, ye fall from your own stedfastness.


But forget not this one thing, beloved, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.


Now I desire to put you in remembrance, though ye know all things once for all, that Jesus, having saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.
