Now after some years I came to bring alms to my nation, and offerings:


but now, {\i I say}, I go unto Jerusalem, ministering unto the saints.


I exhorted Titus, and I sent the brother with him. Did Titus take any advantage of you? walked we not in the same spirit? {\i walked we} not in the same steps?\par


I had no relief for my spirit, because I found not Titus my brother: but taking my leave of them, I went forth into Macedonia.\par


And herein I give {\i my} judgment: for this is expedient for you, who were the first to make a beginning a year ago, not only to do, but also to will.


and not only so, but who was also appointed by the churches to travel with us in {\i the matter of} this grace, which is ministered by us to the glory of the Lord, and {\i to show} our readiness:


Whether {\i any inquire} about Titus, {\i he is} my partner and {\i my} fellow-worker to you-ward; or our brethren, {\i they are} the messengers of the churches, {\i they are} the glory of Christ.


beseeching us with much entreaty in regard of this grace and the fellowship in the ministering to the saints:


I thought it necessary therefore to entreat the brethren, that they would go before unto you, and make up beforehand your aforepromised bounty, that the same might be ready as a matter of bounty, and not of extortion.\par


But I have all things, and abound: I am filled, having received from Epaphroditus the things {\i that came} from you, an odor of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, well-pleasing to God.


according as each hath received a gift, ministering it among yourselves, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God;
