Notwithstanding, Jehovah turned not from the fierceness of his great wrath, wherewith his anger was kindled against Judah, because of all the provocations wherewith Manasseh had provoked him.


And all the princes, and the mighty men, and all the sons likewise of king David, submitted themselves unto Solomon the king.


Now hear me therefore, and send back the captives, that ye have taken captive of your brethren; for the fierce wrath of Jehovah is upon you.


and said unto them, Ye shall not bring in the captives hither: for ye purpose that which will bring upon us a trespass against Jehovah, to add unto our sins and to our trespass; for our trespass is great, and there is fierce wrath against Israel.


Now it is in my heart to make a covenant with Jehovah, the God of Israel, that his fierce anger may turn away from us.


And he also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart against turning unto Jehovah, the God of Israel.


Since the day that I brought forth my people out of the land of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build a house in, that my name might be there; neither chose I any man to be prince over my people Israel:


but I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there; and have chosen David to be over my people Israel.


For now have I chosen and hallowed this house, that my name may be there for ever; and mine eyes and my heart shall be there perpetually.


Let now our princes be appointed for all the assembly, and let all them that are in our cities that have married foreign women come at appointed times, and with them the elders of every city, and the judges thereof, until the fierce wrath of our God be turned from us, until this matter be despatched.


And they gave their hand that they would put away their wives; and being guilty, {\i they offered} a ram of the flock for their guilt.


So have I looked upon thee in the sanctuary,\par\tab To see thy power and thy glory.


They have seen thy goings, O God,\par\tab Even the goings of my God, my King, into the sanctuary.


Princes shall come out of Egypt;\par\tab Ethiopia shall haste to stretch out her hands unto God.


Until I went into the sanctuary of God,\par\tab And considered their latter end.


He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger,\par\tab Wrath, and indignation, and trouble,\par\tab A band of angels of evil.


And Jehovah said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people:


Shout against her round about: she hath submitted herself; her bulwarks are fallen, her walls are thrown down; for it is the vengeance of Jehovah: take vengeance upon her; as she hath done, do unto her.


Then saith Jesus unto him, {\cf6 Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, {\b Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.}}


If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will the Father honor.


But as to Israel he saith, {\b All the day long did I spread out my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.}\par


But now being made free from sin and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto sanctification, and the end eternal life.


Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked.


Thou shalt fear Jehovah thy God; and him shalt thou serve, and shalt swear by his name.


Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of Jehovah your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee.


And if it seem evil unto you to serve Jehovah, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve Jehovah.


Therefore are they before the throne of God; and they serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall spread his tabernacle over them.
