And he walked in all the way of Asa his father; he turned not aside from it, doing that which was right in the eyes of Jehovah: howbeit the high places were not taken away; the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.

And he placed forces in all the fortified cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his father had taken.


but sought to the God of his father, and walked in his commandments, and not after the doings of Israel.

So Jotham became mighty, because he ordered his ways before Jehovah his God.

And Saul was afraid of David, because Jehovah was with him, and was departed from Saul.


And David behaved himself wisely in all his ways; and Jehovah was with him.


And David went out whithersoever Saul sent him, and behaved himself wisely: and Saul set him over the men of war, and it was good in the sight of all the people, and also in the sight of Saul's servants.
