Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred threescore and six talents of gold,


Jehoshaphat made ships of Tarshish to go to Ophir for gold: but they went not; for the ships were broken at Ezion-geber.


Then said Ahaziah the son of Ahab unto Jehoshaphat, Let my servants go with thy servants in the ships. But Jehoshaphat would not.

It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir,\par\tab With the precious onyx, or the sapphire.


Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear;\par\tab Forget also thine own people, and thy father's house:


Kings' daughters are among thy honorable women:\par\tab At thy right hand doth stand the queen in gold of Ophir.


I gathered me also silver and gold, and the treasure of kings and of the provinces; I gat me men-singers and women-singers, and the delights of the sons of men, musical instruments, and that of all sorts.


I will make a man more rare than fine gold, even a man than the pure gold of Ophir.
