And the children of Ammon came out, and put the battle in array at the entrance of the gate: and the Syrians of Zobah and of Rehob, and the men of Tob and Maacah, were by themselves in the field.


And David said to Abishai, and to all his servants, Behold, my son, who came forth from my bowels, seeketh my life: how much more may this Benjamite now do it? let him alone, and let him curse; for Jehovah hath bidden him.


David smote also Hadadezer the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his dominion at the River.


And when the Syrians of Damascus came to succor Hadadezer king of Zobah, David smote of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.


And from Betah and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, king David took exceeding much brass.


And Jehovah raised up an adversary unto Solomon, Hadad the Edomite: he was of the king's seed in Edom.


Then Pharaoh said unto him, But what hast thou lacked with me, that, behold, thou seekest to go to thine own country? And he answered, Nothing: howbeit only let me depart.

Michtam of David, to teach; when he strove with Aram-naharaim and with Aram-zobah, and Joab returned, and smote of Edom in the Valley of Salt twelve thousand.}\par\par\tab O God thou hast cast us off, thou hast broken us down;\par\tab Thou hast been angry; oh restore us again.


Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, who shall not regard silver, and as for gold, they shall not delight in it.


Hast thou not heard how I have done it long ago, and formed it of ancient times? now have I brought it to pass, that it should be thine to lay waste fortified cities into ruinous heaps.


I am Jehovah, and there is none else; besides me there is no God. I will gird thee, though thou hast not known me;


and thou shalt come up against my people Israel, as a cloud to cover the land: it shall come to pass in the latter days, that I will bring thee against my land, that the nations may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.\par
