Ecclesiastes 2 - King James Bible with Strong Numbers

H559I said[H8804] H3820in mine heartH3212, Go to now[H8798] H5254, I will prove[H8762] H8057thee with mirthH7200, therefore enjoy[H8798] H2896pleasureH1892: and, behold, this also is vanity.

H559I said[H8804] H7814of laughterH1984, It is mad[H8781] H8057: and of mirthH2090, WhatH6213doeth[H8802]  it?

H8446I sought[H8804] H3820in mine heartH4900to give[H8800] H1320myselfH3196unto wineH5090, yet acquainting[H8802] H3820mine heartH2451with wisdomH270; and to lay hold[H8800] H5531on follyH7200, till I might see[H8799] H2896what was that goodH1121for the sonsH120of menH6213, which they should do[H8799] H8064under the heavenH4557allH3117the daysH2416of their life.

H1431I made me great[H8689] H4639worksH1129; I builded[H8804] H1004me housesH5193; I planted[H8804] H3754me vineyards:

H6213I made[H8804] H1593me gardensH6508and orchardsH5193, and I planted[H8804] H6086treesH6529in them of all kind of fruits:

H6213I made[H8804] H1295me poolsH4325of waterH8248, to water[H8687] H3293therewith the woodH6779that bringeth forth[H8802] H6086trees:

H7069I got[H8804] H5650me servantsH8198and maidensH1121, and had servants bornH1004in my houseH7235; also I had great[H8687] H4735possessionsH1241of greatH6629and small cattleH3389above all that were in JerusalemH6440before me:

H3664I gathered[H8804] H3701me also silverH2091and goldH5459, and the peculiar treasureH4428of kingsH4082and of the provincesH6213: I gat[H8804] H7891me men singers[H8802] H7891and women singers[H8802] H8588, and the delightsH1121of the sonsH120of menH7705, as musical instrumentsH7705 , and that of all sorts.

H1431So I was great[H8804] H3254, and increased[H8689] H6440more than all that were beforeH3389me in JerusalemH2451: also my wisdomH5975remained[H8804]  with me.

H5869And whatsoever mine eyesH7592desired[H8804] H680I kept[H8804] H4513not from them, I withheld[H8804] H3820not my heartH8057from any joyH3820; for my heartH8056rejoicedH5999in all my labourH2506: and this was my portionH5999of all my labour.

H6437Then I looked[H8804] H4639on all the worksH3027that my handsH6213had wrought[H8804] H5999, and on the labourH5998that I had laboured[H8804] H6213to do[H8800] H1892: and, behold, all was vanityH7469and vexationH7307of spiritH3504, and there was no profitH8121under the sun.

H6437And I turned[H8804] H7200myself to behold[H8800] H2451wisdomH1947, and madnessH5531, and follyH120: for what can the manH935do that cometh[H8799] H310afterH4428the kingH3528? even that which hath been alreadyH6213done[H8804] .

H7200Then I saw[H8804] H3426thatH2451wisdomH3504excellethH5531follyH216, as far as lightH3504excellethH2822darkness.

H2450The wise man'sH5869eyesH7218are in his headH3684; but the foolH1980walketh[H8802] H2822in darknessH3045: and I myself perceived[H8804] H259also that oneH4745eventH7136happeneth[H8799]  to them all.

H227ThenH559said[H8804] H3820I in my heartH4745, As it happenethH3684to the foolH7136, so it happeneth[H8799] H1571even to meH3148; and why was I then moreH2449wise[H8804] H1696? Then I said[H8765] H3820in my heartH1892, that this also is vanity.

H2146For there is no remembranceH2450of the wiseH5973more thanH3684of the foolH5769for everH3528; seeing that which nowH3117is in the daysH935to come[H8802] H7911shall all be forgotten[H8738] H4191. And how dieth[H8799] H2450the wiseH3684man ? as the fool.

H8130Therefore I hated[H8804] H2416lifeH4639; because the workH6213that is wrought[H8738] H8121under the sunH7451is grievousH1892unto me: for all is vanityH7469and vexationH7307of spirit.

H8130Yea, I hated[H8804] H5999all my labourH6001which I had takenH8121under the sunH3240: because I should leave[H8686] H120it unto the manH310that shall be after me.

H3045And who knoweth[H8802] H2450whether he shall be a wiseH5530man or a foolH7980? yet shall he have rule[H8799] H5999over all my labourH5998wherein I have laboured[H8804] H2449, and wherein I have shewed myself wise[H8804] H8121under the sunH1892. This is also vanity.

H5437Therefore I went about[H8804] H2976to causeH3820my heartH2976to despair[H8763] H5999of all the labourH5998which I took[H8804] H8121under the sun.

H3426For there isH120a manH5999whose labourH2451is in wisdomH1847, and in knowledgeH3788, and in equityH120; yet to a manH5998that hath not laboured[H8804] H5414therein shall he leave[H8799] H2506it for his portionH1892. This also is vanityH7227and a greatH7451evil.

H1933For what hath[H8802] H120manH5999of all his labourH7475, and of the vexationH3820of his heartH1931, whereinH6001he hath labouredH8121under the sun?

H3117For all his daysH4341are sorrowsH6045, and his travailH3708griefH3820; yea, his heartH7901taketh not rest[H8804] H3915in the nightH1892. This is also vanity.

H2896There is nothing betterH120for a manH398, than that he should eat[H8799] H8354and drink[H8804] H5315, and that he should make his soulH7200enjoy[H8689] H2896goodH5999in his labourH2090. ThisH7200also I saw[H8804] H3027, that it was from the handH430of God.

H398For who can eat[H8799] H2363, or who else can hasten[H8799] H2351hereunto, more than I?

H5414For God giveth[H8804] H120to a manH2896that is goodH6440in his sightH2451wisdomH1847, and knowledgeH8057, and joyH2398: but to the sinner[H8802] H5414he giveth[H8804] H6045travailH622, to gather[H8800] H3664and to heap up[H8800] H5414, that he may give[H8800] H2896to him that is goodH6440beforeH430GodH1892. This also is vanityH7469and vexationH7307of spirit.
