Psalm 122 - Easy To Read Version

¹ I was very happy when people said,\par “Let us go to the Lord’s temple. {\cf2\super [611]} ”\par

² Here we are,\par standing at the gates of Jerusalem.\par

³ This is New Jerusalem!\par The city has been built again\par as one united city.\par

⁴ That is where the family groups go.\par The people of Israel go there\par to praise the Lord’s name.\par They are the family groups\par that belong to the Lord\par

⁵ The kings from David’s family\par put their thrones in that place.\par They set up their thrones there\par to judge the people.\par

⁶ Pray for peace in Jerusalem.\par “I hope the people who love you\par will find peace there.\par I hope there will be peace\par inside your walls.\par I hope there will be safety\par in your great buildings.”\par

⁷ For the good of my brothers and neighbors,\par I pray there will be peace here.\par

⁸ For the good of the temple\par of the Lord our God,\par I pray that good things will happen\par to this city.\par
