But the Levites were not counted among the children of Israel, as YHWH commanded Moses.


Now this is the history of the generations of Aaron and Moses in the day that YHWH spoke with Moses in Mount Sinai.


YHWH spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, saying,


“Count the children of Levi by their fathers’ houses, by their families. You are to count every male from a month old and upward.”


According to the commandment of YHWH they were counted by Moses, everyone according to his service and according to his burden. Thus they were counted by him, as YHWH commanded Moses.
