Another of his disciples said to him, “Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father.”
As Jesus passed by from there, he saw a man called Matthew sitting at the tax collection office. He said to him, “Follow me.” Then Matthew got up and followed him.
As he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax office. He said to him, “Follow me.” And he got up and followed him.
For this son of mine was dead and is alive again. He was lost and is found.’ Then they began to celebrate.
But we had to celebrate and rejoice, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again. He was lost and is found.’”
He said to another, “Follow me!” But he said, “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.”
But Jesus said to him, “Leave the dead to bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the Empire of God.”
On the next day, he was determined to go out into Galilee. He found Philip, and Jesus said to him, “Follow me.”
Now he said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. Then Jesus said to him, “Follow me.”
Jesus said to him, “If I desire that he stay until I come, what is that to you? You must follow me.”
even when we were dead in our transgressions, ʜᴇ made us alive together with Christ—by grace y’all have been saved—
Therefore he says, “Awake, you sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”
