for they all gave out of their abundance, but she, out of her poverty, gave all that she had to live on.”


Jesus spoke these words near the offering box as he taught in the temple. Yet no one arrested him, because his hour had not yet come.


The disciples decided to send help to the siblings living in Judea, each according to their means.


For if the willingness is present, the gift itself is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have.


During a severe trial of oppression, their abundant joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed to the wealth of their generosity.
