Or do you have an arm like God? Can you thunder with a voice like him?


Reach an agreement quickly with your adversary while you’re on the way with him, or he will deliver you to the judge, and the judge you to the officer, and you will be thrown into prison.


Give to the one who asks you, and don’t turn away the one who desires to borrow from you.


As you are going with your adversary to appear before the magistrate, make an effort to be reconciled on the way, so that he won’t drag you to the judge, and the judge hands you over to the officer, and the officer throw you into prison.


Or what king, when he goes to battle against another king, will not first sit down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to oppose the one who comes against him with twenty thousand?


In the same way, then, any of y’all who don’t renounce all that you has cannot be my disciple.
