He said, “Yes.” When he came into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth collect duty and taxes? From their children or from strangers?”


“What do y’all think about the Christ? Whose son is he?” They said to him, “The son of David.”


The next day, he took out two denarii, gave them to the host, and said, ‘Take care of him. Whatever you spend beyond that, I will repay you when I return.’


The legal expert replied, “The one who showed mercy to him.” Then Jesus said to him, “You go and do likewise.”


Neither had enough to repay, so he forgave the debts them both. Now which of them will love him more?”
