They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent. Viper’s poison is under their lips. Selah.


His talk was smooth as butter, but war was in his heart. His words were softer than oil, yet they were drawn swords.


My soul is among lions. I lie among those who are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.


Their poison is like the poison of a snake, like a deaf cobra that stops its ear,


See what they spew from their mouth. With swords on their lips, they think, “Who can hear us?”


One who has a perverse heart doesn’t find prosperity, and one who has a deceitful tongue falls into trouble.


If the snake bites before it is charmed, then is there no profit for the charmer’s tongue.

Their wine is the poison of serpents, the cruel venom of asps.


The tongue is also a fire, a world of evil set among the parts of our body. It defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of our existence, and is itself set on fire by hell.


For every species of animal, bird, reptile, and sea creature is tamed and has been tamed by the human species,


The great dragon was thrown down, the old serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the one who deceives the whole world. He was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.
