The unfaithful will be repaid for his own ways; likewise a good person will be rewarded for their ways.
Let favor be shown to the wicked, yet he will not learn righteousness. In the land of uprightness he will deal wrongfully, and will not see YHWH’s majesty.
Though our iniquities testify against us, work for your name’s sake, YHWH; for our rebellions are many. We have sinned against you.
“Your own wickedness will correct you, and your backsliding will rebuke you. Therefore you must know and see that it is an evil and bitter thing, that you have forsaken YHWH your God, and that my fear is not in you,” says the Lord, YHWH Almighty.
YHWH said to me, “Backsliding Israel has shown herself more righteous than treacherous Judah.
Since the day that y’all’s ancestors came out of the land of Egypt to this day, I have sent all my servants the prophets to y’all, rising up early every day and sending them.
Yet they didn’t listen to me or incline their ear, but made their neck stiff. They did worse than their ancestors.
Why then have the people of Jerusalem fallen back by a perpetual backsliding? They cling to deceit. They refuse to return.
They called to them, so they went from them. They sacrificed to the Baals, and burned incense to engraved images.
“I will heal their waywardness. I will love them freely; for my anger is turned away from them.
For Israel is stubborn, stubborn like a heifer. Then how will YHWH feed them like a lamb in a meadow?
They return, but not to the Most High. They are like a faulty bow. Their princes will fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue. This will be their derision in the land of Egypt.
