Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near and struck Micaiah on the cheek, and said, “Which way did the Spirit of YHWH go from me to speak to you?”


Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and struck Micaiah on the cheek, and said, “Which way did the Spirit of YHWH go from me to speak to you?”


They have gaped on me with their mouth. They have struck me on the cheek reproachfully. They gather themselves together against me.


Then Pashhur had Jeremiah the prophet beaten and put him in the stocks that were in the upper gate of Benjamin at the house of YHWH.


Now gather yourself in troops, daughter of troops. He has laid siege against us. They will strike the judge of Israel with a rod on the cheek.


Then they spat in his face and struck him with their fists. Others slapped him,


After Jesus said this, one of the officers standing nearby slapped him and said, “Is this the way you answer the high priest?”


Jesus answered him, “If I have spoken evil, testify as to the evil. But if I speak rightly, then why do you strike me?”


Five days later, the high priest Ananias went down with some elders and a lawyer named Tertullus. They presented their case against Paul to the governor.
