Go in to King David, and tell him, ‘Didn’t you, my lord the king, swear to your servant, saying, “Surely Solomon your son will reign after me, and he is to sit on my throne?” Why then does Adonijah reign?’
most certainly as I swore to you by YHWH, the God of Israel, saying, ‘Surely Solomon your son will reign after me, and he is to sit on my throne in my place,’ I will most certainly do this today.”
Then y’all are go up with him, and he will come and sit on my throne. He is to be king in my place. I have appointed him to be prince over Israel and over Judah.”
So the king commanded Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and he went out and struck Shimei down so that he died. The kingdom was established in the hand of Solomon.
Now David was old and full of days; and he made Solomon his son king over Israel.
Solomon the son of David was firmly established in his kingdom, and YHWH his God was with him, and made him exceedingly great.
If your children will keep my covenant, my testimony that I will teach them, their children also will sit on your throne forever more.”
