Pilate said unto them: what shall I do then with Iesus, which is called Christ? They all said to him: let him be crucified.


¶ When Pilate saw that he prevailed nothing, but that more business was made, he took water and washed his hands before the people saying: I am innocent of the blood of this just person, and that ye shall see.


Then said Pilate to the high priests, and to the people: I find no fault in this man.


And when they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate to kill him.


¶ And when there arose great debate, the captain fearing lest Paul should have been plucked asunder of them, commanded the soldiers to go down, and to take him from among them, and to bring him into the castle.


Then they gave a shout with a loud voice, and stopped their ears and all ran upon him at once,
