And Jacob begat Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.


Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said to them, Whom will ye that I release to you? Barabbas? Or Jesus who is called Christ?


The governour answering said to them, Which of the two will ye that I release to you?


And the governour said, Why, what evil hath he done?


Then the chief priests and all the council sought for witness against Jesus, to put him to death, and found none.


The woman saith to him, I know that the Messiah is coming, who is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.


And though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate, that he might be put to death.


Be it known unto you therefore, that through this man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins.
