And there was one named Barabbas, who lay bound with them that had made insurrection with him, who had committed murder in the insurrection.


And they cried all at once saying, Away with this man, and release to us Barabbas:


And they accused him saying, We found this fellow perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Cesar, saying, that he himself is Christ a king.


Pilate desiring to release Jesus, spake again to them.


But they were the more violent saying, He stirreth up the people, teaching through all Judea, beginning from Galilee, to this place.


Who said, Canst thou speak Greek? Art not thou that Egyptian, who before these days madest an uproar, and leddest out four thousand murtherers into the wilderness?


But ye renounced the holy one and the just, and desired a murderer to be granted you.
