And when we were all fallen down to the earth, I heard a voice saying to me in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? It is hard for thee to kick against the goads.


I indeed thought myself, that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth:


But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it, and take heed lest ye be found even fighting against God.


And falling to the earth, he heard a voice saying to him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?


And he trembling and astonished, said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said to him, Arise and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.


Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?


Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected: but I pursue, if I may apprehend that, for which I was also apprehended by Christ Jesus.


having put me into the ministry, Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecuter, and a reviler; but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.
