And she said, These six measures of barley gave he me; for he said to me, Go not empty unto thy mother in law.

And she said, He gave me these six measures of barley, for he said to me, Do not go empty-handed to your mother-in-law.

And she said, These six measures of barley gave he me; for he said, Go not empty unto thy mother-in-law.

She said, “He gave me these six measures of barley, for he said to me, ‘Don’t go away empty-handed to your mother-in-law.’”

And she said, "Behold, he gave me six measures of barley, for he said, 'I am not willing to have you return empty to your mother-in-law.' "

And she said: Behold, he hath given me six measures of barley; for he said: I will not have thee return empty to thy mother-in-law.

When Ruth came back to her mother-in-law, Naomi asked, “How did it go, my daughter?” So Ruth told her all that the man had done for her.

“Wait, my daughter,” Naomi said, “until you find out how the matter turns out, for he will not rest until he has settled the matter today.”
