Lord, where are thy former lovingkindnesses, Which thou swarest unto David in thy truth?
Lord, where are Your former loving-kindnesses [shown in the reigns of David and Solomon], which You swore to David in Your faithfulness?
Lord, where are thy former lovingkindnesses, Which thou swarest unto David in thy faithfulness?
Where now are your loving acts from long ago, my Lord— the same ones you promised to David by your own faithfulness?
May God do so to Abner and even more if, as Adonai has sworn to David, I don’t accomplish this for him—
Yet My lovingkindness will not be withdrawn from him as I withdrew it from Saul, whom I removed from before you.
Will he live forever— and never see the Pit?
No man can redeem his brother, or give to God a ransom for him.
For strangers have risen up against me. Violent men seek after my soul. They do not set God before them. Selah
I will not violate My covenant, nor alter what My lips have uttered.
Incline your ear and come to Me. Listen, so that your soul may live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, the trustworthy loyalty to David.
