Such are the ways of all who forget God; the hope of the godless perishes—
The wicked will see it and be indignant. He will gnash with his teeth and waste away. The desire of the wicked will perish.
But let the righteous be glad. Let them exult before God. Let them rejoice with gladness.
The desire of the righteous is only good, but the hope of the wicked only wrath.
When the wicked dies, his hope perishes, and the hope of the strong vanishes.
The wicked is brought down in his calamity yet the righteous has a refuge even in death.
In an evil man’s wrongdoing is a trap, but the righteous sings and rejoices.
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and shalom in trusting, so you may overflow with hope in the power of the Ruach ha-Kodesh.
