They were strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to persevere in faith, and saying, “It is through many persecutions that we must enter the kingdom of God.”
For you see your calling, brothers and sisters, that not many are wise according to human standards, not many are powerful, and not many are born well.
But you have dishonored the poor person. Isn’t it the rich who oppress you and drag you into court?
