Then Adonai Elohim said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. Let Me make a well-matched helper for him.”


Whoever finds a wife finds good, and receives favor from Adonai.


It is better to live in a desert land than with a quarrelsome, worrisome wife.


It is better to live on a corner of a roof than in a house shared with a quarrelsome wife.


But He said to them, “Not everyone can accept this saying—only those to whom it has been given.


Now I tell you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery.”


But I say to the unmarried and to widows that it is good for them to remain as I am.


They forbid people to marry; they command people to abstain from foods that God created for the faithful to share with thanksgiving, having come to know the truth.
