While Israel was living in that land, Reuben went and slept with his father’s concubine Bilhah, and Israel heard about it. Now Jacob had twelve sons.


Leah’s sons were Jacob’s firstborn Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar and Zebulun.


Rachel’s sons were Joseph and Benjamin.


“Bless God in the congregations— Adonai, from the fountain of Israel.”


Blow a shofar in Gibeah, a trumpet in Ramah! Sound an alarm at Beth-aven: “Behind you, Benjamin!”


Then Abdon son of Hillel the Pirathonite died and was buried in Pirathon in the land of Ephraim, in the hill country of the Amalekites.


So he gathered to himself the people of Ammon and Amalek, then went and defeated Israel and took possession of the City of Palms.

Then a remnant of nobles came down. Adonai’s people came down to me with the mighty ones.
