Its measure is longer than the earth and wider than the sea.


When He made the force of the wind, and measured out the waters,


Who appointed Him over the earth? Who put Him over the whole world?


There is no speech, no words, where their voice goes unheard.


He drove out nations before them, and allotted them an inheritance. He settled the tribes of Israel in their tents.


When He set the heavens in place, I was there. When He inscribed the horizon on the face of the ocean,


when He set the boundaries for the sea, so that the waters never transgress His command, when He laid out earth’s foundations—


But pelican and porcupine will have it, owl and raven will dwell in it. He will stretch a line of chaos over it and stones of desolation.


Who has measured the waters in the palm of His hand, or measured out heaven with a span, or calculated the dust of the earth in a measure, or weighed the mountains in scales, or the hills in a balance?


He sits above the circle of the earth— its inhabitants are like grasshoppers— He stretches out the skies like a curtain, spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.


so that we may proclaim the Good News even to regions beyond you, not boasting about what has been accomplished in another’s area.


He raises the helpless from the dust. He lifts the needy from the dunghill, to make them sit with nobles, granting them a seat of honor. For the earth’s pillars are Adonai’s, and He has set the world on them.
