“People listened to me and waited, and kept silent for my advice.


They waited for me as for the rain, and opened their mouths as for spring rain.


“Therefore I say, ‘Listen to me! I, even I, will explain what I know.’


I gave you my full attention. But behold, no one proved Job wrong; none among you, answered his statements.


Now Elihu had waited to speak to Job because they were older.


Behold, we have investigated this— it is true. Hear it, and apply it to yourself!”


The first to state his case seems just, until another comes and cross-examines him.


A rich person is wise in his own eyes, but a discerning poor person sees through him.
