“I won’t wait for you!” Joab said. So he took three darts in his hand and thrust them through Absalom’s heart while he was yet alive in the midst of the oak.


Then ten young men who were Joab’s armor-bearers surrounded Absalom, struck and finished him off.


So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then the king’s rage subsided.


For you ask, ‘Where is the nobleman’s house and the tent where the wicked lived?’


For what hope has the godless, when he is cut off, when God takes his soul?


so that godless men should not rule, nor lay snares for people.


I myself have seen a fool taking root, but suddenly I cursed his dwelling.


Such is his joyous course, and from the earth others spring up.


Yet a little while, and the wicked will be no more. Yes, you will look at his place, but he will not be there.


How long will the wicked, Adonai, how long will the wicked gloat?


They gush out, they speak arrogance— all the evildoers keep boasting.


“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord!’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.


Rather let each one examine his own work. Then he will have pride in himself alone and not in comparison to anyone else.


But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.
