If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin. But now they have no excuse for their sin.

Though they know God’s righteous decree—that those who practice such things deserve death—they not only do them but also approve of others who practice the same.
Therefore did that which is good become death to me? May it never be! Rather it was sin working death in me—through that which is good—so that sin might be shown to be sin, and that through the commandment sin might become utterly sinful.
For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than after learning about it, to turn back from the holy commandment passed on to them.
