Everything that had the breath of the spirit of life in its nostrils—everything on dry land—died.

Thus says Adonai: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, and depends on flesh as his arm, and whose heart turns from Adonai.
So now we are calling the proud blessed. Those who practice iniquity are built up. Indeed, they have tested God, and escaped!”
Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. What is your life? For you are a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes.
