Then Rachel answered along with Leah and they said to him, “Is there still a portion and inheritance for us in our father’s house?
Then Adonai said to Jacob, “Return to the land of your fathers and to your relatives, and I will be with you.”
for he thought, “If Esau comes to one camp and strikes it, the camp that’s left will escape.”
Then God said to Jacob, “Get up! Go up to Beth-El and stay there. Make an altar there to the God who appeared to you when you fled from your brother Esau.”
He built an altar there and called the place El-Beth-El because God had revealed Himself to him there when he fled from the presence of his brother.
