Then the king turned his face about and blessed the whole congregation of Israel while the whole congregation of Israel was standing.


Then Solomon stood before the altar of Adonai in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, spread out his hands toward heaven,


Adonai went before them in a pillar of cloud by day to lead the way and in a pillar of fire by night to give them light. So they could travel both day and night.


So Adonai spoke with Moses face to face, as a man speaks with his friend. Then he would return to the camp, but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, did not leave the Tent.


After Moses entered, the pillar of cloud descended, stood at the door, and He would speak with Moses.


So the people believed. When they heard that Adonai had remembered Bnei-Yisrael and had seen their affliction, they bowed their heads and worshipped.


“But the tax collector, standing some distance away, wouldn’t even lift his eyes toward heaven, but beat his chest, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, the sinner!’
