He drove out nations before them, and allotted them an inheritance. He settled the tribes of Israel in their tents.
For My angel will go before you, and bring you to the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hivites and the Jebusites, and I will cut them off.

So Adonai gave to Israel the entire land that He had sworn to give to their fathers. They took possession and settled in it.
Behold, I have allotted to you as an inheritance, according to your tribes, these nations that remain, along with all the nations that I have cut off, from the Jordan to the Great Sea toward the setting of the sun.
