Adonai Elohim caused a deep sleep to fall on the man and he slept; and He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh in its place.


“In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men, as they slumber in bed,


Amid unsettling visions in the night, when a deep sleep falls on men,


I sleep, but my heart is awake. A voice! My lover is knocking! “Open to me, my sister, my darling, my dove, my perfect one! For my head is drenched with dew, my locks with dewdrops of night.”
