So Absalom fled, went to Geshur and remained there three years.


Sons were born to David in Hebron: his firstborn was Amnon by Ahinoam of Jezreel;


his second was Chileab by Abigail the widow of Nabal the Carmelite; the third was Absalom son of Maacah daughter of King Talmai of Geshur;


The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination— how much more when he brings it with evil intent?


Behold, you fast for strife and contention and to strike with a wicked fist. You should not fast as you do today to make your voice heard on high.


And he sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for the Child. And when you have found Him, bring word back to me so that I may come and worship Him as well.”
