When he came to Samaria, he struck down all who remained from Ahab in Samaria, until he had destroyed him, according to the word of Adonai spoken to Elijah.


For Adonai saw that the affliction of Israel was very bitter and spared no one—whether bond or free—nor was there a helper for Israel.


It is true, Adonai, the kings of Assyria have devastated the nations and their lands,


I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria and the plummet of the house of Ahab, and I will utterly wipe Jerusalem as one wipes a dish—wiping it and turning it upside down.


For Adonai will judge His people— for His servants, He will relent when He sees that strength is gone and no one is left, slave or free.


May God do so and even more to David’s enemies if by the morning I leave even one male of all who belong to him!”
