Now Rehoboam loved Maacah the daughter of Absalom more than all his wives and concubines—for he took 18 wives and 60 concubines and fathered 28 sons and 60 daughters.


Then Rehoboam slept with his fathers and was buried in the city of David. Then his son Abijah became king in his place.


In the 18th year of King Jeroboam, Abijah began to reign over Judah.


He reigned three years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Micaiah, the daughter of Uriel of Gibeah. There was war between Abijah and Jeroboam.
