or to pay attention to myths and endless genealogies. These give rise to useless speculations rather than God’s training which is in faithfulness.
knowing that the Torah is not given for a tzaddik but for the lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinful, for the unholy and worldly, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers,
but what is suitable for women claiming godliness, through good deeds.
Now beyond question, great is the mystery of godliness: He was revealed in the flesh, Vindicated in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Proclaimed among the nations, Trusted throughout the world, Taken up in glory.
For physical exercise has some benefit; but godliness is beneficial for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the one to come.

holding to an outward form of godliness but denying its power. Avoid these people!
And they will turn away from hearing the truth and wander off to myths.
not paying attention to Judaic myths and commands of men who turn away from the truth.
training us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live in a manner that is self-controlled and righteous and godly in the present age.
But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and strife and disputes about Torah, for they are unprofitable and useless.
But solid food is for the mature, who through practice have their senses trained to discern both good and evil.
