Just as he was about to enter Egypt he said to Sarai his wife, “Look, please, I know that you are an attractive woman.


For the wicked one boasts about his soul’s desire. The greedy one curses, reviling Adonai.


A wise woman builds her house, but a foolish one tears it down with her own hands.


House and wealth are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from Adonai.


under a slave when he becomes a king, a fool when he is stuffed with food,


An accomplished woman who can find? Her value is far beyond rubies.


She opens her mouth with wisdom— a lesson of kindness is on her tongue.


Now to Caleb son of Jephunneh he gave a portion among the children of Judah, at the command of Adonai to Joshua—Kiriath-arba, which is Hebron (Arba was the father of Anak).


Now therefore, know and consider what you will do, for evil is determined against our master and against all his household. But he is such a worthless fellow that no one can speak to him.”


Please my lord, pay no attention to this worthless fellow, Nabal, for as his name is, so is he—Nabal is his name and disgraceful folly is with him. But I, your maidservant, did not see the young men of my lord whom you sent.
