Then their father Israel said to them, “If it must be so, then do this: take some of the best products of the land in your bags, and bring an offering down to the man—a little balsam and a little honey, gum and myrrh, pistachios and almonds.


A man’s gift makes room for him, and leads him before great men.


But certain worthless men said, “How can this one save us?” So they despised him and brought him no present. But he kept silent.


Then they will greet you and give you two loaves of bread, which you will receive from their hand.


So Saul sent messengers to Jesse and said, “Send me your son David, who is with the flock.”


Also take these ten slices of cheese to the captain of their thousand—and check out the welfare of your brothers and bring back some token from them.


Then Abigail hurried and took 200 loaves, two bottles of wine, five dressed sheep, five measures of roasted corn, 100 cakes of raisins, and 200 cakes of figs, and put them on donkeys.
